📋 About This Mod
Flightless, extinct and living in a coop!
Add dodos to Marnie's shop. Including eggs, feathers, mayo and recipes
Available for CP and AT (chickens)
Compatible with Livestock Bazaar and GMCM
Dodos lay one speckled egg a day. These small eggs can be put in the incubator to hatch or used to make dodo mayo
Place the egg in the mayo machine, and it produces a creamy, slightly speckled mayo
If you're lucky, you might even find a dodo egg out in the wild when digging up an artefact spot
Use the stovetop or campfire to make a delicious dodo omelette with double yolks!
The feathers of a dodo are small and stubby. Use the config.json to set your feather colour preference to either "Brown, white or blue"
Use the feathers to craft a fossil as decoration around your farm, or frame them to hang on your wall

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 277 endorsements and over 56k downloads.
- Flexible installation: choose a new animal or simple retexture.
- Actively updated (May 2026) — likely compatible with current game version.
⚠️ Cons
- Requires either Content Patcher or Alternative Textures, so you'll need to install one of those mods first.
- If you use the retexture option, you lose the original chicken look — no toggle for mixed appearances.
For Stardew Valley players who want a fun, quirky addition to their coop without major gameplay changes. Ideal for those who enjoy cosmetic variety and are comfortable installing mods like Content Patcher or Alternative Textures. Skip if you prefer vanilla aesthetics or don't want to manage extra mod dependencies.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're new to modding, use the Content Patcher version for a straightforward new animal — it's easier to manage than retextures.
- Make sure you have the latest version of SMAPI installed, as both CP and AT require it to run.
- If you choose the retexture option, remember that it affects all chickens in your coop — plan your farm aesthetic accordingly.
