📋 About This Mod
Twenty-four (24) dog types to replace the pet dog. Making them softer and more realistic-looking
Also changes the adoption icon at Marnie's
Available for Content Patcher and Alternative textures
The different types are:
Golden Retriever, English Bulldog, German Shepard, Border Collie, Greyhound, Australian Shepard, Jack Russell, Dachshund, Bull Terrier, Cocker spaniel, Beagle, Dalmatian, Borzoi, Pug, Shiba, Bernese, St. Bernard, Chow Chow, Pomeranian, Sharpei, Irish Red Setter, Husky, Rough Collie, Pyrenees

Download and install the latest SMAPI and Content Patcher
Download and unzip "Em's Dogs CP"
Move the folder to \Stardew Valley\Mods\
The default for each dog is its original breed. To choose a different type:
Open the config.json file in the Dog mod folder
Replace the "type" with the name of the breed you like
The choice you make also affects Marnie's adoption icon
Save and close the folder again, and you're all set!
Download and install the latest SMAPI and Alternative Textures
Download and unzip "Em's Dogs AT"
Move the folder to \Stardew Valley\Mods\
Buy the paint tools from Robin at the Carpenter's shop
With the scissors selected, left-click the dog and choose its type
Any dog bought at Marnie's shop gets a type assigned at random and can be changed with the scissors.
Because each dog is a different size, the original hats are often slightly misplaced on their snouts. To solve this, you can use Hats On Pets Plus
This allows you to adjust the placement of the hat on custom animal sprites. Note, Hats on Pets is just a framework and does nothing by itself, it takes a little bit of coding to solve. But the steps in the "for modders" part are very helpful!
Known issues:
1. Due to an issue with Alternative Textures, the pet emotes (heart and sleep) show twice. This hopefully gets resolved with an update soon
2. The bigger dogs are a little too tall for the pet friendship menu. It doesn't affect the game; they just hide their snoots
