Minimalist Witcher Senses (Focus)

The Witcher 3 was designed with the Witcher Senses (Focus) mode in mind, and you have to use it all the time. Ideally I would strip it all out, but often there's simply no other visible way to detect interactable items or tracks. Having to use it so often, all the special effects and limitations of this mode get really annoying, so this mod removes them.

Which effects/limitations are removed?

  []Dimming (black & white) effect along screen borders

  []Forced zoomed camera

  []Slow response when activating Witcher Senses

  []Very limited range

  []Inability to Sprint

  What's kept is the highlighting of the interactable objects (Geralt's sharp eyesight), and the visible sound bubbles from monsters in the distance (Geralt's sensitive ears).

  Companion Mod

  Minimalist Witcher Senses can be used stand alone, but works even better while also using my Minimalist Camera mod. That mod smooths out camera motion and gives the game a more cinematic feel. Both mods have been designed to work together, without disturbing each other's camera changes.

  Credits

  In the past I was using the mod Friendly Focus by opsedar, which was a great mod, to create a similar setup to what my new mod does. But sadly Friendly Focus does not work on the current game patch. I've lived without such a mod for a while, but now decided to create my own take on the Witcher Senses. Friendly Focus can do a lot more than this mod and includes a configuration menu, my mod is a "bespoke" minimalist version of Witcher Senses, without customization. But still a mod that I think others will like as well.

  Installation

  • []Use Vortex (recommended), or another mod manager (untested).

    []Or install manually (not recommended): Copy the contents of the modMinimalistWitcherSenses. 7z file to your .

    []Run Script Merger (already included in Vortex) to check and fix any script conflicts you may have with other mods you use.
