📋 About This Mod

It always bothered me how the chainmail of the belly and back of the viper armors did not look like the shoulders ones...

So I decided to investigate how the chainmail were applied to the shoulders so I could apply to other parts of the armor

This is NOT A TEXTURE MOD! This means it can be used with whatever texture mod you have. (Provided the "texture" mod does not change the meshes)

This was made by altering the Meshes, changing the areas of the belly and back materials to the Shoulders chainmail material and adjusting the UV Mapping.

Install: Just unpack to your "The Witcher 3\mods" folder

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

This mod replaces the belly and back sections of the Viper Armors (default and v2) with high-definition chainmail that matches the shoulders material. It is a mesh replacement, not a texture mod, and has been downloaded over 243,000 times with 4,534 endorsements.

✨ Key Features

Replaces belly and back parts of Viper Armors (default and v2) with HD chainmail
Chainmail texture is based on the shoulders material for visual consistency
Explicitly not a texture mod, indicating a mesh-level change
High community adoption with over 243,000 downloads and 4,534 endorsements

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Huge community trust (4,534 endorsements) — this is a proven fix for a common visual gripe
  • Simple, focused change: upgrades the belly and back to match the shoulders, so no more mismatched armor look
  • Mesh-based, so it works with your existing textures and won't conflict with texture overhauls

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in 2017 — may not be compatible with the latest game version or other armor mods
  • Only affects Viper Armors (default and v2); if you use other armor sets, this won't help
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who use the Viper Armors and want a more cohesive, high-detail look without changing textures. Skip if you don't use those armors or if you prefer full armor overhauls.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since this is a mesh replacer, make sure you install it after any mod that changes the Viper Armor meshes to avoid overwriting.
  • Use a mod manager like Vortex or Mod Organizer 2 to easily uninstall if you encounter issues.
  • Check the mod's comments section on Nexus for user-reported compatibility with other armor mods.
