SKSE plugin which thoroughly reworks and fixes controller rumble, bringing with it a new level of interactivity.
Like many things, Skyrim's controller rumble is quite simplistic by modern standards. In vanilla it's exclusively used for combat, but even there it has issues.
Rumble in Skyrim is either on or off, there is no in-between. Skyrim accomplishes rumble with two systems; firstly, it has a very basic system which originates from Oblivion (Xbox 360), used to create rumble for hit effects, and bow firing. Secondly, it has a system for generating rumble from audio.
The first system whilst basic, is functional. However crossbows both lack any rumble from firing, and are considered a melee weapon during hit effects. This mod automatically adds configurable rumble for crossbow firing, and correctly stops crossbows from creating hit effects for melee weapons.
The second system is very cool, however practically broken in vanilla. In vanilla Skyrim, rumble with this system, is basically either on or off. Even the quietest of sounds with rumble enabled, will make the controller vibrate heavily. It also almost exclusively uses a single rumble motor of two. This mod makes audio properly correspond to rumble, as well as making full use of both motors. This enables new subtle rumble effects, and significantly improves weapon swings and spell-casting.
By default, all sound sources will now generate rumble as long as they have an output model for it. This means that most "foley" sound effects such as drawing and unsheathing weapons, reloading crossbows, wood-cutting, mining and more, will now generate rumble.
