What is Ultra+?

Ultra+ provides comprehensive engine tuning, visual enhancements, and performance balancing to maximize your game experience for as many ranges of hardware as possible.

Support: All support is provided via Discord. We do not provide support on Nexus. There are many people willing to help in Discord.

Updates: Mod updates are provided first via UPM and Discord. Nexus is often out of date.

Feature Requests: Feel free to request features in Discord. We can modify most things in UE games now including some game asset modifications.

Quick Start

• []Install using Ultra+ Manager (UPM) (recommended) or manual installation[/]

  []Press F12 in-game to apply settings (disable Steam screenshots if conflicting or change the Apply Settings keybind in UPM)[/]

  []Load presets: apply uplus_defaults then a quality preset (low/medium/high/veryhigh/epic)[/]

  Manual Installation: Extract the mod files to your game directory.

  Important: Do not use Engine.ini mods with Ultra+ as they will likely cause crashes or visual issues. Ultra+ already includes comprehensive engine optimizations.

  Overview

  Ultra+ for Gothic 1 Remake improves performance, fixes in game settings, and improves visuals.

  Game Tips

  • []Vanilla max settings are unusable, Ultra+ fixes them. It is fine to run max settings with Ultra+.[/]

    []Mostly standard settings recommend, apply uplus_defaults and medium or high preset and go from there.[/]

    []May need to wait a few seconds before loading after launching game. [/]

    []Have noticed some potential instability on startup and unsure of the specific cause or what it is related to. Works fine after that.[/]

    []Now with options to customize the intensity of fog, scale the contrast, and scale localexposure which can cause ringing on highlights[/]

    Configuration

    AutoApplyConfig - off,on

    automatically reload settings when config changes - primarily to be used with the UPM overlay

    BetterReflectionSDFs - game,off,on,on_epic,on_insane

    Increases the resolution of meshes in global software lumen space, most noticeable in reflections

    Bloom - game/0-3

    Bloom intensity (0. 0 = off, 1. 0 = default, 2. 0 = double, game = use game default)

    ChromaticAberration - game,off,on

    Recommend disabling in most games as it often just blurs the image for no benefit

    CustomEyeAdaptation - game,on

    slightly brighter/darkens less

    DebugLogging - off,on

    enable verbose debug logging to UE4SS console - use ALT+D to toggle at runtime

    Denoiser - game,none,none_temporalgihigh,temporal,temporal_high,rayreconstruction,rayreconstruction_temporalgihigh

    Changes global illumination and reflection denoising - allows enabling ray reconstruction - temporal high settings increase the amount of temporal information to reduce noise at the cost of ghosting

    DepthOfField - game,off,on,on_less_blurry

    depth of field control - off reduces noise in cutscenes

    DynamicFPS - game/0-240

    Target FPS for dynamic adjustment (0 = off, 30-240 = target framerate) - press ALT + F12 to disable dynamic FPS and save current settings

    EnableKeybinds - off,on

    Enables individual setting keybinds if they are available, does not change global keybinds

    ExtendedFogQuality - game,epic,u
