📋 About This Mod
State Indicator
At-a-glance icons for what the world senses about you.
State Indicator puts a small set of clean, procedurally-drawn icons on your screen that tell you whether anyone can see, hear, or smell you, and whether you're in combat. Each one reads the game's OWN perception and state, so the icons reflect exactly what the AI actually senses, not a rough guess.
Every icon is white when you're undetected and turns orange the moment something notices you, with a smooth animation in between. Colourblind-friendly by default, and fully recolourable.
The four indicators
-
[]Sight — an eye. Closed while you're hidden, it opens when any actor can SEE you.[/]
[]Sound — an ear. Bare while you're quiet, it gains soundwaves when any actor can HEAR you.[/]
[]Smell — a nose. Bare while you're unscented, it shows inhalation lines when any actor can SMELL you.[/]
[]Combat — two swords. Held parallel while you're calm, they cross when a hostile is engaging you.[/]
Smart around interactions
-
[]Keeps showing while you loot containers and pick locks (on by default), so you can see if someone's watching while you work — or set it to fade if you'd rather.[/]
[]Fades during dialogue by default (with an option to keep it shown).[/]
[]Cleanly hides for menus, cutscenes, and other full-screen UI.[/]
Zero-asset & lightweight
-
[]Every icon is drawn procedurally at runtime — no textures, fonts, or assets are added to the game. No .pak, nothing baked in.[/]
[]Tiny install: just the mod's DLL and scripts.[/]
[]Built to be safe — it never writes to game memory, and it stays completely dormant during world loads.[/]
Make it yours
-
[]Per-indicator: turn each on/off, position it anywhere (fine-grained), and resize it.[/]
[]Two colours per indicator — one for undetected, one for detected (default white → orange), each a full RGB picker.[/]
[]Independent opacity for the undetected and detected states.[/]
[]Animation speed for each, from instant to a slow, deliberate transition.[/]
[]Optional hotkey to toggle the Sight eye on/off while you play.[/]
[]With the Shared Mod Menu you can adjust every setting live, in-game (default F2) — no restart, with a dedicated tab per indicator and a short in-menu description on every option (with Shared Mod Menu 1. 3. 0+). Prefer a text editor? Every option is a clearly-commented line in settings.ini.[/]
Installation
-
[]Install the UE4SS Experimental build first; this is a UE4SS DLL mod and needs it.[/]
[]Then install State Indicator.[/]
[]Shared Mod Menu is optional but highly recommended, as it adds the in-game settings menu (default F2).[/]
