Performance Lua Mod Loader

Description

PLuaModLoader is a performance-focused Lua mod loader for Gothic 1 Remake using UE4SS.

Normally, separate UE4SS Lua mods run in separate Lua states, which means each mod may create its own scheduler, hooks, timers, or LoopAsync fallback thread. PLuaModLoader changes that by loading multiple child Lua mods inside one shared UE4SS mod instance.

This allows supported Lua mods to share one ModHub scheduler, one hook fanout system, one task queue, and one fallback LoopAsync thread instead of each mod managing its own background loop.

Installation instructions

1. Install UE4SS for Gothic 1 Remake.

2. Extract PLuaModLoader into your UE4SS Mods folder.

Your folder structure should look like this:

G1R/Binaries/Win64/ue4ss/Mods/PLuaModLoader/

3. Put child mods inside:

PLuaModLoader/Scripts/Mods/

4. Each child mod should have its own folder and must contain an enabled.txt file to be loaded.

Example:

PLuaModLoader/Scripts/Mods/ContinuousMining/

enabled.txt

ContinuousMining.lua

ContinuousMining.ini

5. Use load_order.txt to force specific mods to load first.

Example:

ContinuousMining

SomeOtherMod

Mods listed in load_order.txt are loaded first. Any other enabled child mod folders are loaded afterwards in alphabetical order.

  Requirements

    []Lua mods must be written or converted to run as PLuaModLoader child mods.[/]

  Important: PLuaModLoader does not magically merge normal standalone UE4SS Lua mods. A mod must be placed inside PLuaModLoader/Scripts/Mods and written as a child mod that receives the ModHub API.

  A child mod should generally use:

  Standalone mods that still use their own UE4SS folder remain separate Lua states and will not share PLuaModLoader's scheduler.
