True Sunglasses

- Introduction -

This mod adds an effect filter whenever you're wearing sunglasses. You can also set a hotkey with which you can un-equip worn glasses. The glasses will be kept in inventory and the mod will remember which glasses you were wearing - even across sessions - and when you need them again you just press the hotkey to equip them again.

Of course you can also manually equip or un-equip glasses to add or remove the effect.

Different glasses have different effects. Currently around ~990 different modded sunglasses are supported - and since 2. 5. 0 you can add any pair the list missed yourself, in game, in two clicks. You can also mix your own tints on sliders and save them under whatever name you like.

Every pair the mod tints says so on its tooltip - a line among the item's own stats: Rose-tinted lenses, Dark smoke-tinted lenses, Custom tinted lenses (last one for your own LUTs) - so you know before you put them on.

This mod is of course inspired by the original - Immersive Sunglasses by NexusGuys999 - which I have already extended once before but now entirely remade in Redscript.

With RedWindows installed you get a True Sunglasses window in the overlay.

Wearing something the mod doesn't know? The window says so and offers a button: THESE ARE SUNGLASSES - ADD THEM. Pick a tint, click it, done - that pair is written into your own glasses file (glasses.user.json) and recognised from then on, in this and every future session. No waiting for me to update a list every time a modder releases new frames - and mod updates never touch your file.

Wrong tint on a pair you own? Put them on, pick a different one from the dropdown. It applies while you're wearing them and saves immediately.

Glasses you want managed but not tinted? Pick (no tint) when you add them - or on a pair you already own. They stay on the list, the hotkey still stashes and re-equips them, they just don't colour your view.

Changed your mind about a pair? REMOVE FROM LIST takes it off entirely: no tint, and the hotkey leaves it alone. Works on pairs from the shipped list too - the removal is written to your own file, so the shipped list is never touched.

Want a tint that doesn't exist? The LUT Editor mixes your own: colour, strength, brightness and saturation on sliders, with live preview so you're looking through the tint while you build it. Name it, save it, and it joins every list in the mod as your own entry - assignable to any glasses, or as the default for unrecognised ones. No plugin needed any more, and the preview follows the sliders as you drag them.
