📋 About This Mod

Made for game v2. 31. Tested with PL, but should work without.

TL;DR

While a useful quality of life feature, giving V access to a shared inter-dimensional storage always felt a bit much.

This simple mod lets you disconnect stashes from each another: only letting you access items you have put in at that specific location.

And if you ever lose an item—simply disable split stash from the menu and restore Vanilla behavior.

What it actually does

First of all: nothing is actually happening to the items themselves. They are all still safely stored together in the shared space.

Split Stash acts as a filter for you stash, changing what you are allowed to see and retrieve based on which specific stash you have accessed that shared space from.

Default stash

When you access any stash for the first time after installing this mod, it will be registered as the default one and all of the currently stashed items will be placed inside.

Any items deposited into your stash by the game itself (or by other mods) will be placed into your default stash.

Other stashes

When you access another stash for the first time, it will receive a unique identifier and be registered with the mod, starting off empty.

Afterwards, whenever you access previously encountered stash, only its contents will be visible and accessible.

Item transfers

When you put non-stackable items (e.g. a gun or a jacket) into a stash, they are marked by its unique identifier and will remain so until you take them out.

If you put a stackable item (e.g. a consumable or junk item) into a stash, the mod will track how many elements of that stack belong to that specific stash.

Restoring connection

Did you forget where you put an item? No worries! Since split stack is simply a filter, it can be easily disabled from the menu.

The mod lets you disable filters for apartments and vehicles separately in case you want to, for example, preserve shared access at home, while maintaining immersive access in the field.

And even while you are accessing the stash through a disabled filter, the mod still tracks where each item goes, so you can re-enable its functionality at any time without losing any information.

NOTE: Due to their implementation, when retrieving stackable items through a disabled filter, you will start taking them from your default stash first and go up from there, as they run out in each consecutive storage.

Hitting reset

Want to start from scratch or move all of your scattered items to a single stash without disabling split filter functionality?

Simply press "reset" button in the menu
