More Better Balanced Quen (NEXT GEN)

What's the purpose?

This mod lets you customise the amount of reduced damage, how many "hits" are required until it breaks, or to disable the healing effect:

1. The duration of the standard cast scales with your Quen sign intensity.

2. The standard Quen cast absorbs only a fraction of attack damage.

3. When absorbing attack damage, the standard shield will be drained by a maximum percent per hit. This can be reduced to a minimum percent if your Quen sign intensity is high enough or the damage is low enough.

4. Vanilla Next Gen already fixes that -> The sign no longer clears damage-over-time effects. Instead, DoT damage will drain your shield health instead of damaging you.

5. The alternate cast of Quen may no longer heal you when absorbing damage (depending on the mod version).

Because there were 8 versions, just for changing the number in the code... I took the liberty to create mod setting. Now it's all compiled in one single file.

Installation

For newcomers/beginners: I invite you to read The Tome of Witcher 3 Modding

0 DON'T USE VORTEX!!

1. Use Witcher 3 Mod Manager, or extract the files in your game's directory, Witcher 3 Wild Hunt GOTY Edition.

2. Launch Script Merger and merge the script if it conflicts.

3. Run Menu Filelist Updater.

How to uninstall?

From Mods folder, delete "modMoreBetterBalancedQuen".

From Bin folder, navigate to Bin/config/r4game/user_config_matrix/pc folder, then delete "MoreBetterBalancedQuen".

Run Menu Filelist Updater and Script Merger, you'll have to merge again in order to remove leftovers.

Compatibility and Conflict

Reminder: Next-Gen Compatible!

This is a script mod that affects the following file:

-scripts\game\gameplay\items\spells\quenEntity.ws

Likely won't be compatible with other "Quen" balance mods, such as More Reasonable Damage or Path Of The Tough.

If you wish to use it on the Classic 1. 32, install the 1. 32 mod.

Recommended Mod

Below is the list of mods I recommend with mine:

- New Signs FX: Most Recommended. Improve Yrden appearance.

- Lightsource Yrden And Igni: Most Recommended. Put more light on Yrden and Igni.

- Less Screams: Prevent NPCs from being scared when yo
