📋 About This Mod
This mod is a community effort.
Description
His view is not dependent on NPC's or object in sight, Geralt will shift his view dynamically toward whatever the center of your screen
It's not intrusive or overdone, it feels natural and intended in a way -- which is precisely why I updated this fantastic mod.
Once I played with it there was no going back...
There are alternatives to this but I find them to be overly complicated to what I actually want: camera-based head movement
like in GTA V, RDR2, The Last of Us, and so on.
I think it goes even harder with the new close-up cam.
This mod was made by SkacikPL as one of the first mods that that gave us head movement similar to the old pre-release showcases where Geralt is wading through Crookback Bog, taking in the scenery as he walks. The standard mode of this mod was NPC- and object based head movement direction but it also provided an option to set movement based on camera direction which killergas47 set and tweaked a little to his liking. They also updated the scripts to work beyond game version 1. 22. You can find a working version for legacy (1. 30+) here, uploaded by killergas47 or in the file section.

You'll want to do that with a mod manager, don't rename the mod's folder.

appearance or animations. If you encounter something breaking, please provide as much information as possible and
check if your Issue isn't known already.
1. Doesn't work? -> Merge!
2. Still doesn't work? -> put mod to the top or bottom of your load order. (but do not re-name the mod!)
Known Issues
- After some cutscene- and dialogue triggers the mod may stop working.
This is probably due to new lines and structures in the script of
Face Them is a small immersion tweak for The Witcher 3 that makes Geralt's head track the camera, similar to GTA V and RDR2. Originally by SkacikPL, updated by PanOptikum4, and further tweaked for compatibility. Deprecated but still popular with 781 endorsements.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 781 endorsements and nearly 89k downloads.
- Adds modern third-person camera behavior that feels natural.
- Lightweight tweak that doesn't overhaul anything else.
⚠️ Cons
- Deprecated — check posts for the latest version or replacements.
- Last updated in August 2023 — may not work with the latest game patches.
- Small niche tweak; if you don't care about camera tracking, it's pointless.
For Witcher 3 players who want a more modern, cinematic camera feel like in GTA V or RDR2. Perfect for immersion enthusiasts who notice when Geralt's head doesn't follow the camera. Skip if you prefer the original camera behavior or want bigger gameplay changes.
