📋 About This Mod

As brought to me by @ResidentRaccoon44 , the dead bodies of Whoreson Junior and his victims, in his estate, in Oxenfurt, were never disappearing nor rotting away, no matter the weeks/month passing by. They were left untaken care of, in the vanilla game. Also, like it was the case with the corpses left to forever burn in the Tourney Grounds, the bodies of the female victims are of very LO-RES, I guess, as static elements, they were left untouched by the successive graphical updates, through the years, from wich the other NPCs benefited. I think that we can all agree that this issue should have been fixed by the developers, by now. Since it somehow seems to have fell off their radar, I decided to fix it myself. I also took care of the ambient mess, in the house (removed the books and pages from the floor, the broken stuff, the numerous blood stains all over the place, the hanging ropes and also removed the bloody water from the bath tub).

I made two versions that you can choose from :

Version 1. 0 : The dynamic version that can be deployed at any moment before meeting Radovid with Vernon Roche, at the Oxenfurt's chess club. Everything will be restored/removed a short while after the quest is over.

Version 2. 0 : The instant-effect version, intended to be deployed at any moment AFTER the Whoreson's quest. Takes effect the moment it is deployed.

Installation : Download and deploy manually of with Vortex, then merge and enjoy. If ever my mod conflicts with any other mod modifying the Novigrad map ([...]/levels/novigrad/novigrad.w2w), just give my mod priority.

Uninstall just like any other mod. Delete, merge.

Here are other mods I made, wich also aim at enhancing the feeling of immersion, when playing The Witcher 3 :

Full Access To An Expanded And Book Accurate Beauclair Palace In Toussaint

The dynamic return of an Innkeeper in White Orchard after Elsa's departure

Kaer Morhen'S Bastion restored to its ancient splendor

Kaer Morhen restored to its ancient splendor

Dynamic and complete restoration of the Tourney Grounds, in Toussaint, after Epilogue

Crow's Perch finally restored and enhanced, version 2. 0      (this mod might get updated soon, so it could be deployed in a dynamic manner)

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community-approved fix with 125 endorsements and over 34k downloads—clearly hits a nerve for many players.
  • Solves an immersion-breaking issue that vanilla leaves behind, making the estate feel properly cleaned up.
  • Dynamic removal means it works without breaking quest progression or causing script lag.

⚠️ Cons

  • Only affects one location—if you're looking for broader corpse cleanup, this won't help elsewhere.
  • Last updated in June 2024—may not be compatible with future game patches, though it's likely fine for now.
  • No detailed install instructions provided, so you'll need to know how to manually add mods or use a manager.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Witcher 3 players who hate seeing corpses linger in quest areas and want a cleaner world after the story. If you're a completionist or roleplayer who values immersion, this is a must-have. Skip if you don't care about post-quest mess or rarely visit Oxenfurt.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure to place the mod folder in your 'mods' directory in the game's root folder.
  • If you use a mod manager like Vortex, it should auto-detect and deploy the mod—just enable it and launch.
  • This mod only affects the estate after the quest, so you won't see changes until you've progressed past that point.
