📋 About This Mod
Requires QModManager by qwiso
This mod changes the alien containment breeding procedure. When the alien containment is at full capacity (e.g. 10 fish, when using one floor), instead of stopping the breeding process, the bred fish are distributed to Bio Reactors which are in the same base as the alien containment. When no bio reactor is found or no bio reactor has space available in its inventory, no fish are bred.
This mod doesn't work with creature eggs.
Installation:

Fish Overflow Distributor automatically sends excess fish from Alien Containment to Bio Reactors in the same base once the containment is full. A quality-of-life mod for Subnautica base builders, with 2,198 endorsements and 58,208 downloads, last updated in 2019.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 2,198 endorsements and 58k downloads—clearly fills a real need.
- Solves the annoying problem of fish breeding endlessly and clogging your containment.
- Simple, hands-off automation—set it and forget it.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2019—might not work with the latest Subnautica patches.
- Only works within the same base, so you can't distribute to reactors in other bases.
- No configuration options—you can't set thresholds or choose which fish to prioritize.
For Subnautica players who rely on Bio Reactors for power and hate manually culling fish. If you're tired of your Alien Containment overflowing, this mod is a must-have. Skip if you prefer manual control or don't use Bio Reactors.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure your Bio Reactor is in the same base as the Alien Containment—the mod won't work across separate bases.
- Place the distributor near the containment to ensure it connects properly.
- If you're using other mods, check for compatibility patches since this mod hasn't been updated since 2019.
