Wandering Spouses

Wandering Spouses gives your Stardew Valley spouse the freedom to roam the farm. No longer is your spouse stuck inside the farmhouse on days when they don't go to town. No longer will they magically teleport from the farmhouse to the bus stop. No longer will they spend all day standing on the porch staring wistfully out at fields they can never visit.

Now in v1. 7 personalised dialogue added for Maru, now has dialogue for all core marriage candidates.

With Wandering Spouses from 9am to 3pm most days your spouse has the ability to wander around the farm, checking on the animals, inspecting the crops, visiting the buildings and appreciating the farm's beauty spots. As they wander they can talk to the farmer about what they see and the beauty of the farm.

Features

The key features of Wandering Spouses are:

• []Spouses can wander the farm from 9am (midday on patio days, dusk for Krobus) on days when they are not going to town and it is not raining or snowing. They reenter the farmhouse between 3pm and 5pm.

  []Spouses going to town will walk across the farm to get there and walk back across the farm on their way back. Spouses can leave through Cindersap Forest or the Backwoods if that is quicker or the path to the bus stop is blocked.

  []Spouses will never destroy things on your farm; they will always find a path to walk around obstacles.

  []Hundreds of individual dialogue lines for each core game marryable character discussing what they see on the farm. All other spouses, including spouses from mods, will use generic lines or their own outdoor dialogue.

• Compatible with custom NPCs and other mods including Immersive Spouses, ValleyTalk and Polyamory Sweet.

  Dialogue

  In this release of the mod in-character lines have been included for all standard marriage candidates while they are walking around the farm. Modded characters use parts of their default dialogue unless they have a personalised dialogue content pack.

  Content Packs

  The mod was intended as a base that dialogue authors can use to write immersive experiences for spouses around the farm. You are welcome to write better / different dialogue for the core Stardew characters and to make dialogue packs for other characters. I have written an article with details of how the dialogue works that should give you most of the details you need and created a template mod (under 'Optional Files' in the files section) to get you started. You can modify the existing mod content pack, but it will be easier when you upgrade if you use the template to create an add-on pack.
