📋 About This Mod
Stardew Valley Balance Overhaul (SVBO) attempts to make more playstyles viable while bringing unbalanced ones down to reasonable levels. Almost every aspect of the game has been rebalanced: sell prices, shops, crafting recipes, artisan goods processing, monsters, buildings costs, food buffs, community center bundles, etc. Expect a faster early game, slower late game, and a much more rewarding and balanced experience designed with longer playstyles in mind.
For the intended experience, a new save is required because existing item's sell prices cannot be changed. Make sure to set your desired Community Center bundles in the config before creating a new save because bundles cannot easily be changed on existing saves. For more details see FAQ below.
SVBO is fully modular. Disabling all settings will make it do nothing. If you would like more in-depth information about the changes to specific items we have separate spreadsheets for the content we individually support.
Theoddon's Spreadsheet contains info related to Vanilla, Stardew Valley Expanded, Ridgeside Village, East Scarp and Love of Cooking as well as info related to monster rebalance, museum rewards, bundles and more in-depth info regarding crafting recipes and their changes.
Minothilos Spreadsheet contains info related to all supported mods (except Ridgeside Village and East Scarp), including (but not limited to) Cornucopia (all of them), Animal Husbandry Mod, Mizu's Quail/Turkey, Milkable Sheep and Binning.

📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid community backing (477 endorsements) and a healthy download count (28k) show it's proven.
- Modular design means you can pick and choose what to change—tweak only what you want.
- Covers nearly every economy and progression aspect, so it's a one-stop balance fix.
⚠️ Cons
- With such a broad scope, it might conflict with other mods that touch the same systems—check compatibility carefully.
- Last updated mid-2026, so it's current, but if the game updates soon, you might need to wait for a patch.
For veteran Stardew players who've mastered the vanilla economy and want a fresh challenge. Also great for modders who want a solid base to tweak further. Skip if you're happy with the base game balance or prefer smaller, focused mods.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's modular, start by disabling everything and enable modules one by one to see what each does.
- Use a mod manager like SMAPI's mod folder to keep things organized and easy to toggle.
- If you're using other economy mods, load this one after them to ensure its changes take priority.
