📋 About This Mod
Less Ugly Town Interiors
(Disclaimer; I do not actually think that the original interiors are ugly, I just have no sense for names.)
A very simple mod with a VERY long description.
Oh wow, I can't believe it. I actually finished something?!?
After weeks of grueling work, my blood sweat and tears being shed every minute, my fingers numbing sensation filling my whole hand as my eyes burn holes onto the screen....
.. Nah I'm just kidding.
Better town interiors is my lover, but procrastination is my best friend. You know how it usually goes.
~Brand spankin' new mod, with a shiny coat of paint poured right over it!~

What is this mod, and what does it do?
Well if you haven't read the brief description of the mod, you might have a hard time here since long descriptions is kind of my trademark at this point pfft.
This mod basically reimagines most of the town interiors into a (hopefully!) better version of itself!
The changes may be drastic, miniscule, or one that you may not have even noticed!
Nevertheless, as of version 1. 1. 3 a total of 20 fully configurable and recolor-compatible interiors has been revamped with 3 new custom areas (Lore friendly!) and 10 compatibility branches.
Compatibility branches?
If you take a look inside the config menu with GMCM, you will notice that there are a lot of interiors that has 2 options.
Original and Compatibility.
-
[]Original is fully compatible with pre-existing vanilla cutscenes, which includes (hopefully) all the heart events until SDV 1. 5 and the special order cutscenes. I went ham on this one, so there are more things going on here.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 1,833 endorsements and 65k downloads — clearly doing something right
- Breathes new life into vanilla interiors without adding new content, keeping it lightweight
- Recent update (April 2024) means it's likely compatible with current game versions
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects town interiors, so if you wanted overhauls for dungeons or player homes, this isn't it
- Author didn't specify which towns are included — might not cover all locations you hoped for
For players who spend a lot of time in towns and want them to feel more lived-in and cozy. If you're tired of sterile, empty interiors and want a quick visual upgrade, this is for you. Skip if you're looking for gameplay changes or new buildings.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a simple interior overhaul, you can install it mid-playthrough without issues, but starting a new game ensures you see all changes cleanly.
- If you use other mods that alter the same interiors, check load order — put this one after to ensure its changes take priority.
- Take a before-and-after screenshot of a town interior to see the difference clearly.
