📋 About This Mod
Camels are one of the longest domesticated farm animals in the world, and now they can do even more here. Originally this was supposed to be a retexture of Stardew Valley Expanded's Camel, however then I wanted to add a baby texture... Then I got more and more ideas so this became a full expansion on SVE's camels.
New Textures for Camels
This is what started this whole overhaul mod, SVE's camels now have a brand new look. Based on the Dromedary camel, also known as the Arabian Camel. While they aren't the ones with the camel hair that is used in textiles, they're the ones used in Stardew Valley Expanded.
Baby Camels & Pregnancy
Camels now have a baby stage instead of being bought as adults, so you can find baby camels tailing after any adults. Along with this camels can now be pregnant and give birth like other farm animals.
Shave Your Camel's Hair, Not Wool
No longer will camels drop Camel Wool on the floor of their barn, now they will get all fluffy and need to be shorn like sheep. Of course, if they are in the premium barn, you don't have to worry about that to begin with. Also, while it can be known as Camel Wool, this is a Dromedary Camel, not a Bactrian Camel, and they have different coats. Camel hair is the more common phrase, so Camel Wool and Yarn display names have been changed to reflect this. So it's now Camel Hair and Camel Hair Yarn.
New Sounds
Camels no longer use the vanilla's game sound effects, with realistic sounds and different sounds between babies and adults as well. Don't worry, I made sure not to pick any unpleasant sounding ones, because if you've never heard a camel before, particularly a male one, you'd rather not hear that in your game...
Several Different Colour Mutations
There's 10 different colour mutations that your camels can have, from Albino to Black to Piedbald. This also comes with the config option to allow Camel Hair and Camel Hair Yarn to have matching colours to the camel they're from so you can a whole range of colourful yarn.
Camel Milk and Cheese
Camels are now all female, so they can be milked thanks to Extra Animal Config. Camel milk can be used just like any other milk from the game, and of course when put into a cheese press you get Camel Cheese. In the config options, you can even use Large Camel Milk to make a big slab of Large Camel Cheese if you want.
Void Camels
Behind a special unlock condition, there's an additional special Camel variation. Void Camels! Like the Void Chickens, these camels have unique products that net a higher price than your usual camels however their Void Camel Milk and Void Camel Cheese shares the flaw of not being liked by many...
NPC Gift Tastes
Camelus - Camel Expansion enhances Stardew Valley Expanded's camels with a fresh look, baby camels, multiple color variants, and the ability to produce hair and milk. It also integrates with Animal Husbandry for added functionality. Ideal for players who want more depth from their camel livestock.
