wenty-year-old Emilia Morvan lay on the lumpy, smelly, wool-stuffed pallet and listened intently to the sounds of several pairs of feet scuffling outside her airless and pitch-dark room's triple-locked door.  Even though nobody spoke, she knew what was happening.  She'd been held captive long enough to have often heard prisoners being dragged along the hallway.  Judging by the sounds of the latches, there were an additional three triple-locked rooms on this upper-story floor.

Because Emilia was handcuffed with her hands behind her back, she was lying on her side.  The soiled pallet was damp near her pretty face, the wetness caused by the steady stream of saliva that she was powerless to stop because she was being forced to wear a ball-gag.  Her ankles were scraped raw from the iron shackles that were fastened to her legs.  The short length of sturdy iron chain that was attached to the shackles was just long enough to let her hobble over to the malodorous wooden bucket that she was forced to use as a latrine.

The sound of a key being inserted into the door's top lock made her eyes fly wide with alarm.  Although she hated being kept in solitary confinement, she hated even more the sweet-tasting concoction that she was being forced to drink each morning.  She'd discovered the hard way that the stuff was blocking her ability to tap into her well of magicka.  Being helpless was constantly making the once-capable Sorceress weep silent tears of frustration.

“You in there!” a gruff male voice called through the door as he keyed the next lock.  “Stand up and put yer back to the far wall.  You know what to do.  So do it now!”

Emilia knew better than to disobey her captors.  The first time that she'd been ordered to do something she'd defied the buffoon, lifting her chin and staring haughtily at him down her nose.  No one gave her orders.  Ever!  That had been a really bad move, for she'd immediately been grabbed by a pair of his compatriots.  One of the evil looking pair had actually chuckled when he'd hiked up the back of her ankle-length skirt and ripped away her knickers.  The two grinning men had held her fast even as she'd squirmed and screamed, while a third bastard had striped her bare bottom with a willow switch!  Humiliated and frightened beyond belief, that had been the last time that Emilia had played the haughty aristocrat with these brutes.  She'd never been beaten before in her life, not even by her strict Governess.  The shameful switching that she'd received that day for 'silent insolence' had been quite instructive.  As if being switched hadn't been bad en
