Description
This mod replaces the arcade cabinets for Maze Munch and Orc Invaders with Dig Dug II, bringing a rare Namco arcade sequel into Retro Rewind.
Dig Dug II (1985) is the follow-up to Dig Dug, shifting gameplay from underground mazes to a top-down island where players use a jackhammer to create fault lines. When these cracks connect, sections of land collapse into the water, creating strategic chain reactions.
Artwork for Dig Dug II is extremely scarce—almost like searching for lost media. With no widely documented cabinet art and only a handful of flyers and promotional pieces surviving, most visual references are limited and incomplete. Because of this, parts of the original Dig Dug artwork were used to help fill in gaps and keep the design authentic to the series’ style.
All artwork is based on original arcade-era materials. No AI was used in the creation of this mod.
