📋 About This Mod

Remnant II already runs aim assist on mouse and keyboard - at half strength inside a 1.5 degree cone, which is narrower than the target it is meant to help you hit. This widens the cone to 5 degrees and the strength to the value gamepad

What it does

Remnant II already runs aim assist on mouse and keyboard. It is set so narrow that nobody notices it. This widens it.

Requires UE4SS. Nothing else - no pak files, no other mods.

What the game actually ships

Three values, read live from the running game:

AimAdjustAngle                    1. 5    the assist cone, in degrees

KeyboardAndMouseAimAdjustScale    0. 5    its strength on mouse and keyboard

KeyboardAndMouseSnapToTargetScale  0. 0    snap-to-target, switched off

So the magnetism is not disabled on mouse and keyboard - it runs at half strength inside a 1. 5 degree cone. At 40 m that cone is about as wide as a person; closer than that it is narrower than the target it is meant to help you hit, which is why it may as well not exist.

This mod sets the cone to 5 degrees and the strength to 1. 0, the value gamepad players get. Snap-to-target is left at zero.

The two systems are not the same thing

  • []AimAdjust changes the bullet. The view never moves.[/]

    []SnapToTarget changes the view. The game takes the mouse off you.[/]

    They are separate fields, so one can be raised without the other. This mod only raises AimAdjust. snap exists in the config for anyone who wants the other thing, and it is zero until you deliberately change it.

    Why the cone is the only knob that matters

    A target's angular width shrinks with distance while the cone stays fixed. At 10 m a person is about 5. 7 degrees wide, so a 5 degree cone is narrower than the target and barely does anything. At 20 m a person is 2. 9 degrees, so the cone is slightly wider and catches shots that clipped the edge. At 40 m a person is 1. 4 degrees and the cone is 3. 5x wider - that is where you actually notice it.

    So the assist is naturally strongest at range and nearly absent up close, which is the distribution you want: close up you were going to hit anyway.

    It also means the cone's effect changes steeply. At 12 degrees the cone is twice a target's width at 10 m, and that stops being assistance and starts being target acquisition. Tune in small steps - AimAdjust angle 4 in the console is the way to do it.

    Strength is not the lever people assume. Tested directly: with the cone opened to 45 degrees but strength left at the vanilla 0. 5, shots still got pulled onto targets far off the crosshair. Once a target is inside the cone, vanilla strength is already enough to move the bullet onto it.

    Install

    Extract into the game folder so the paths line up:

    Remnant2/Binaries/Win64/Mods/AimAdjust/

    enabled.txt

    Scripts/main.lua

    Scripts/config.txt

    It applies itself on every loading screen. There is nothing to type.

    Configuration

    enabled = 1,

    angle = 5. 0,    the assist cone in degrees  (vanilla 1. 5)

    scale = 1. 0,    strength                    (vanilla 0. 5)

    snap = 0. 0,      snap-to-target - moves your view (vanilla 0. 0)

    com_pct = -1,    aim toward centre of mass, -1 keeps the game's 0. 5

    radius = -1      global targetable radius scale, -1 keeps the game's 1. 0

    Console commands (F10, via the ConsoleEnablerMod that ships with UE4SS). Every setting in Scripts/config.txt can be changed from the console. The change is written back to config.txt and applied immediately - no restart, no editing.

    AimAdjust                  show current and vanilla values

    AimAdjust config            every setting: current value, range, default

    AimAdjust angle 4          cone in degrees, saved to config.txt, applied at once

    AimAdjust scale 0. 8        strength

    AimAdjust snap 0. 1          snap-to-target - this one moves your view; snap 0 puts the game's value back

    AimAdjust com_pct 0. 7      aim toward centre of mass; -1 = leave the game's value

    AimAdjust radius 1. 2        targetable radius scale; -1 = leave the game's value

    AimAdjust 4 1              short form: cone and strength

    AimAdjust restore          put the vanilla values back

    AimAdjust on | off

    restore writes back the values read before anything was changed, not a guess at what vanilla is. Switching snap, com_pct or radius back off does the same for that one field.

    Compatibility

    []Single player and co-op. It changes your client's aim assist only.[/]

    []No pak file, so it needs no AllowModsMod and no signature bypass.[/]

    [*]Remnant II is PvE. There is no PvP to be
