Description

There are Pals I keep in my party for exactly one reason. Cattiva for the carry weight. Celaray so I stop dying to fall damage. They don't fight, they don't work, they just sit there holding a slot hostage for a perk I don't want to give up. The moment I want that slot for something that actually pulls its weight, I lose the bonus.

So I made this. Hunt a Pal, carve its idol, equip the idol. You keep the passive and you get the slot back.

132 Pals are covered — every one whose party passive actually does something for you. A lot of party skills buff the Pal itself rather than the trainer, and those aren't here, because there's no slot to buy back. Kingpaca's bonus goes to Kingpaca. Ribbuny raises your Pals' attack, not yours. Ribbuny Botan, on the other hand, boosts your damage, so it made the cut.

Idols live in Key Items and weigh nothing, so collecting all of them never costs you a single pack slot. Idols are now tracked with a custom save file created when you first load up a world with the mod installed. It tracks which idols you've picked up before clearing them out of your key items. This ledger is keyed to the world save AND the player ID so having multiple worlds should result in different ledgers.

You get six equip slots, though, so having them all doesn't mean running them all. Two of the collections are exclusive on top of that — two idols that both build a status effect would just fight over the same proc, and your damage type is one-or-nothing by definition. Equipping a second swaps the first out rather than refusing, so you're never hunting through six slots for whichever one is blocking you.

Earning them

The Pal you want the passive from is the Pal you hunt. It drops its own idol and Avatar Fragments — and nothing else does. Only the 132 covered Pals drop any of it, so you're never farming random wildlife hoping for a component. Alphas are worth the detour: they hand over the idol every single time, along with enough fragments to matter.

Fragments are shards of something dormant. Fuse four with an elemental material and they reignite into an Avatar Core, one for each of the nine elements, from the same organs and fluids you're already stockpiling.

Cores plus a Pal Soul carve the idol itself. Five grades, from a crude thing you pull off a corpse up to a venerated one pulsing with latent power. Each stronger than the last, and each wanting a bigger soul than the grade below. Souls are the real gate. Fragments you'll drown in; a Giant Pal Soul you'll think about.

Every grade above the first needs its schematic, and those drop from the Pal too. If the one you want isn't showing up, the Draft Table takes five of a grade and gives you one of the next, so a bad streak turns into progress rather than a wall.

I went back and forth on making each grade consume the one below it. It'd be a clean way to force the climb, but it also means you never own a full ladder of anything, and that's the wrong instinct for a mod about collecting. The souls do that job instead.

Where to find it

The collection page lives on your inventory screen. Every Pal in the set shows up from the start, greyed out until you find your first idol of it, so you can see what's out there and go hunting for something specific rather than waiting to stumble into it.

Manual Installation

1. PalSchema Installation

🔹 Install PalSchema. Follow the official PalSchema installation instructions for further guidance. Skip this step if you already have it installed.

2. UE4SS Installation

🔹 Install the latest experimental UE4SS. Skip this step if you already have it installed.

3. Mod Installation

🔹 Open your Palworld installation directory. On Steam, you can right-click the game, select Manage > Browse local files. Should be similar for other platforms.

🔹 Download the mod. The files in the zip are already structured to drop right into the Palworld folder.
