Description

This mod simply disables the health bar that is shown over the crosshair when looking at creatures or NPCs. I've seen other mods which also do this by using blank images, etc, but it turns out you can just set a single gamesetting to 0 and that sorts it much more cleanly.

I also know that DarnUI has an option to do the same thing. This is for users of other UIs.

I prefer not having the health bar, as combat is a bit more unpredictable without it. You can't deliberately pick off the low-health enemy from a horde, or time a quick last strike before their next blow hits, etc. Essentially, it adds a tiny splash more realism to your fantasy adventure.

On the downside, you also can't see whether an enemy is actually taking reasonable damage or just sponging your attacks. I recommend using this with my Balanced Creature Stats and Balanced NPC Level Cap mods to reduce the sponginess of high-level enemies in general.

Installation

Standard installation procedure: add the file to your data folder and check in the game launcher or your mod manager of choice.

Uninstallation

This mod can be uninstalled at any time and will have no permanent effects on your game.
