📋 About This Mod
Spirit Stones
Requirements:
None
Description
This mod adds five tiers of “Spirit Stones” to the game, which are exact duplicates of the Sigil Stones available from Oblivion gates. Spirit Stones can be found randomly in boss chests at the end of most dungeons in the game. This provides a way of obtaining Sigil Stone effects even after the Oblivion gates have all been closed. Consequently, this mod effectively means that Sigil Stones are no longer finite, so incentivises actually using them rather than saving them for a later time. It also provides another reason to explore dungeons.
Unlike Sigil Stones, Spirit Stones will not always match your current level. This is intentional for loot balance and means that you may find lower-leveled stones that may be of lesser use.
An alternative "After Oblivion" version of the main file only allows the Spirit Stones to appear in loot after the Oblivion gates have been closed in the main quest.
Minor Known Issue:
Installation
Standard installation procedure: install with your mod manager of choice and activate. I recommend Mod Organizer 2.
Choose either the default or "After Oblivion" version of the main file.
You may need to rebuild your bashed patch after installation: see the Compatibility section below.
Uninstallation
Simply remove the mod. Items that you have enchanted with Spirit Stones will not be affected by removing this mod (as their stats are fixed when you create the item).
Compatibility
This mod edits dungeon containers in order to add the Spirit Stones, so will conflict with other mods that edit the same containers. However, this is easily patched with Wrye Bash. The bash tags are already included.

Spirit Stones adds duplicate Sigil Stones to dungeon loot, giving players a balanced chance to obtain Sigil Stone effects even after all Oblivion gates are closed. A small, focused mod for Oblivion players who missed out on Sigil Stones.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Fills a real gap: lets you get Sigil Stone effects post-gate-closure.
- Small and focused, does one thing without bloat.
- 51 endorsements from a niche audience—solid for a utility mod.
⚠️ Cons
- Only 51 endorsements, so it's not widely tested.
- Last updated July 2025—could be outdated if you're on a newer patch.
For Oblivion players who hate missing out on Sigil Stones after the main quest. If you're a completionist or want more loot variety in dungeons, this is a nice add. Skip if you want major gameplay overhauls—this is a simple loot tweak.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a loot mod, make sure you have the latest Oblivion patch to avoid conflicts.
- If you use a mod manager like Wrye Bash, install it manually or via OBMM—it's just a simple esp.
- Check your load order: put Spirit Stones after any mods that alter dungeon loot tables.
