📋 About This Mod

Inspired by the Fallout New Vegas intro cinematic, this mod seeks to extensively rework the lighting of the Strip to match the brightness, coloring and extensive light sources represented within the cinematic, built to support major Strip overhauls.

This mod has two versions, one for the Vanilla gated Strip, and one for Simple Open Strip with additional addons supporting Strip Overhauls that built atop it. The design focus and screenshots are for Strip 2023 Lite, which is a relatively lightweight, faithful and compatible Strip Overhaul that most closely represents the Intro Cinematic in my opinion. I recommend it over other ones when using this mod, though all listed are compatible. Additional support is provided for Strip 2023 (the non-lite edition) and LightBright, as well as additional patches for Lux Aeterna and New Vegas Reloaded.

For this mod to function, follow the load order below

Features

- New street lamps to directly light almost the entirety of the Strip

- Recoloring of most default strip lights to match the Intro coloring, with standardised values for supported mods

- Additional lights for major emissives, such as the Ultra Luxe signs, the Station lights, Lucky 38 lamps and various planters

- Lights for major light sources, such as the Tops and Gomorrah doors and the Tops emissives

- New lights such as an additional street lamp for the Embassy, or a light to illuminate the Station/Monorail entrance

- Adjustments to the Tops and Gomorrah emissives to better support advanced lighting mods, fix alpha issues and improve light colors closer to the Intro

- Corrections and improvements for supported overhauls, such as reduced FPS cost, reenabled lamps for Lightbright and new lamps/sources for 2023

- Integrated support for Afterglow by adjusting its light radius, preventing double lighting and accounting for light limits

- Improved Strip effect/light textures for better balanced emissives with NVR

- Reduced framerate to represent the cost of doing business on the Strip

Requirements

- Improved Lighting Shaders (otherwise terrain will look fried)

- The standard set of bug-fix and essential mods for this mod to perform reasonably, follow the crucial Viva New Vegas guide if you don't know what they are

- You should regenerate your LOD for the Strip worldspace, highly recommended to follow the LOD guide from Viva New Vegas. Avoids oddly placed objects.

Strongly Recommended

- Simple Open Strip (supported, the mod is designed around Simple Open Strip moreso than vanilla to replicate the Intro Cinematic aesthetic)

- Afterglow -- Neon Illumination (supported, use the JIP-less version, provides further lighting enhancements to neon-signage, the Ultra-Lux, the Monorail Station and various other
