Description
This mod rewrites over 1k functions in the game, improving algorithms and using the latest compilers, to improve in-game performance and significantly reduce load/save times.
Installation
Use Mod Organizer 2/Nexus Mod Manager/FOMM, or manually extract the .zip file into your Fallout New Vegas 'Data' folder and install lStewieAl's Tweaks and ActorCause Save Bloat Fix.
The game was compiled without compiler optimizations enabled, so some performance can be gained by rewriting these and building them with an optimizing compiler. The game is massive, so a profiler (Intel VTune) was used to find performance bottlenecks in the game's code. These bottlenecks were then rewritten and compiled with optimizations enabled.
A lot of the game's code was written with memory constraints of the PS3/XBOX in mind, where the developers opted for slower but smaller code - bottlenecks there have been rewritten to favor faster code or better algorithms.
