📋 About This Mod
What is this mod?
I noticed while playing as Femshep and standing next to members of the Normandy crew that the masculine and feminine versions of the outfit had a lot of differences in how they were textured. Very different designs for the straps and belt, different materials for the main blue portion of the outfit, much shinier boots on the F version - that sort of thing (see the screenshots). Checking the original ME1 textures, there are a few differences, but not to this extent. My theory is that these textures must have been remastered for LE by different artists who perhaps weren't each aware of the choices being made by the other, leading to us getting these two different interpretations of the original OT textures.
Anyway, this annoyed me enough that I wasted some hours photoshopping the outfits to be more similar. Mostly I chose to transfer texture/material details from the M version of the outfit to the F version, such as the leather straps and belt/boot materials, but there are a few features unique to the F version which I transfered to the M textures also, such as the fibre normal mapping on the main blue part of the outfit, and the speckled noise on the camo part. The screenshots should make it clearer what I'm on about. I also mostly redid the specular/roughness maps to be consistent across both M and F versions.
I'm considering this a Beta for now as I've only tested it with the Normandy crew. I admit I've not actually played particularly far into the game yet, but from poking into the textures to put this together, it seems there are other tintable variations of this same outfit - I've not touched those tint textures yet, and I'm not sure if my retexture would affect them. I will update this mod in the future to address them if there's an issue. Nevermind, I've now encountered a few NPCs in the wards who are wearing the tintable variations of this outfit and they look fine, so there was no need for concern. The changes I've made are not applied to them at all (as far as I can tell) of course, but that's okay, because they're not supposed to be wearing an identical uniform to other people nearby. I'll still leave the file marked Beta1 until I get further into the game though.
Installation
This mod is a texture mod, a .mem file installed using "Mass Effect Modder (for Legendary Edition)" in the Tools dropdown in ME3Tweaks Mod Manager. Click 'Texture Modding' and then 'Install Texture Mods', add this mod's .mem to the list and Install All.
Bear in mind the warnings on the ME3Tweaks page about not being able to install any content mods after you start installing texture mods without restoring a backup of the game. While I've included an 'uninstaller' for this mod on the Nexus page, it doesn't actually really uninstall the mod, it just overwrites the textures this mod affects with their vanilla LE1 versions, so your game

- Only affects Normandy crew uniforms—if you don't notice the gender difference, you won't care

For Mass Effect Legendary Edition players who obsess over visual consistency and notice texture mismatches between male and female crew members. If you're a casual player who never zooms in on crew uniforms, you can skip this—it's purely cosmetic and very niche.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a texture mod, make sure you have MELE's mod support enabled (e.g., via ME3Tweaks Mod Manager) to avoid conflicts.

- Check the mod's files after download—if it's a loose file, place it in the correct game directory; if it's a .pak, use the mod manager.
