📋 About This Mod
LE1 Community Patch is a simple, unopinionated, bugfix mod for Mass Effect 1 Legendary Edition. A spiritual successor to ME1Recalibrated, this mod makes small edits to fix bugs, improve basic usability, and restore broken content.
This mod has open permissions, and is open to contributions by all. If you have fixes to contribute, please contact HenBagle. You can view the technical details behind all bugs fixed on our GitHub issues page.
If you have bugs to report in Mass Effect 1 LE, please open an issue on our GitHub with reproducible steps, and a fix may be included in our next release!
You are welcome to base your own mod off our files or make patches with this mod without any permission from us, as long as you notify your users that you are using our files. Platform Features
LE1 Community Patch provides several framework features to aid in mod compatibility. The intent is for these features to stay out of the way for a near-vanilla game. Mod developers are able to hook into these features to add new content and change existing content with minimal or no compatibility issues with other mods. For users who are uncomfortable with these back-end changes to the game, the pre-2. 0 versions of the Community Patch will remain posted on this mod page. These versions have the vast majority of basegame bugs fixed.
New in 2. 0: The LE1 Framework is now included with the patch. This framework works similarly to the LE2 Prologue Framework and the framework included with the LE3 patch. Every named NPC in the game has been moved into their own package file, decoupling them from the levels they appear in. This allows mod developers to alter NPC appearance without touching level design files. This greatly improves mod compatibility between appearance mods and plot, level behavior, or other level editing mods.
New in 2. 0: The LE1 Sideloader Framework tool has been integrated into the Community Patch. This allows mods to install additional content into existing game areas with zero compatibility issues, and without modifying master level files. A tutorial for mod developers is available here.
The LE1 Community Patch includes a Mod Settings Menu, similar to the LE3 Community Patch. Several bugfixes are optional and can be configured at any time from the pause menu.
