LE1 - Shorter (or Skipped) Galaxy Map Jump and FTL Cutscenes

Purpose

After the first dozen times watching them, the galaxy map cutscenes (the shorter FTL cutscene and the longer mass relay jump cutscene) in LE1 get kind of old. You end up doing quite a lot of moving between systems in this game. These videos give the impression that they're loading screens in disguise or something, but - at least on my SSD - that doesn't seem to be the case at all. Install this mod and save some time.

This mod doesn't affect the in-engine cutscenes of the Normandy undocking from major planets like Noveria.

Variations

For each of the two cutscenes, you can choose:

• []Shorter - Retains the cutscene, but reduces its length through speed-up and trimming. The relay jump goes from 9 seconds to about 4, and the FTL flyby goes from 5 seconds to about 2. These shorter cutscenes are intended to retain the overall spirit/intent of the original cutscenes but in a condensed way (see the video). They're based on Audemus/ALOV Team's videos from A Lot of Videos (thanks Audemus for sending me uncompressed originals) and are encoded in high-bitrate 4K 60fps Bink 2, to match with ALOV.

  []Fully Skipped - Removes the cutscene altogether. The big advantage of this is it allows mostly uninterrupted usage of the galaxy map - the music even continues. There is, on my system at least, a one-frame-or-so graphical blip each time a cutscene would've displayed, but this is fairly easy to ignore.

  []Do Nothing - Don't change that cutscene.

  Install this after A Lot of Videos. I don't know of any other mods altering these two video files.

  []Galaxy Map Trackers is absolutely essential as it makes the galaxy map a one-stop shop for determining your next location, rather than requiring you to exit, look at the journal, open the map again... the time-wasting of the cutscenes is minor in comparison to that rigmarole.

  []Smoother GUI speeds up UI animations, including the appearance of the text for planet descriptions on the galaxy map.

  []Charted Worlds, Mako mods like N7 Mako and one for longer boosts, and Mako Squadmate Banter do a huge amount to make your time spent driving around the endless dull barren heightmap planets a) shorter and b) slightly more fun.
