📋 About This Mod
Death stops wasting your time. No death screen, no clicks, no waiting — just back in.
Skip Deathscreen
What this mod does
You die. The game reloads your last save by itself. You are back in the world.
No key presses at any point — not on the death menu, not on the loading screen afterwards. You never touch the mouse or keyboard between dying and playing.
-
[]Fully automatic reload on death. The death menu appears for a moment and loads your last save on its own.[/]
[]No "press a button to continue" prompt. The loading screen finishes and hands control straight back to you.[/]
[]Shorter death-to-menu delay. The stock several-second wait is cut to a quarter of a second by default, and is configurable.[/]
[]The death menu is not left on screen. It fades out the moment the reload is confirmed, so you get a normal loading screen instead of a frozen menu.[/]
[]Knows when to leave you alone. If there is no save to load, or the game is offering you a revive, the mod stands down and leaves the menu fully usable. It will not trap you.[/]
[]Nothing else. No hotkeys to learn, no HUD, no new menus. It does one thing.[/]
-
[]UE4SS — developed and tested against v3. 0. 1 (Angelscript Fix recommended)[/]
Installation
-
[]Install UE4SS if you do not have it already.[/]
[]Extract the archive into your Mods folder, so that you end up with:[/]
enabled.txt
Scripts\main.lua
Scripts\config.lua
- []Start the game and die. That is the whole test.[/]
Configuration
Everything lives in Scripts\config.lua and is commented inline. Edit it, then reload a save or restart the game.
-
[]GAMEOVER_DELAY_SECONDS — 0. 25 — how long the death screen shows before the reload. Raise it if it goes by too fast to see. Do not set it to 0; on this engine zero can mean "never show", which stops the mod from firing at all.[/]
[]RESPECT_REVIVE — true — do not auto-reload when the game is offering you a revive.[/]
[]HIDE_DEATH_MENU — true — fade the death menu out once the reload is confirmed.[/]
[]PATCH_LOAD_SCREEN_CFG — true — stop the loading screen waiting for a key press.[/]
[]AUTO_LOAD_VERIFY_MS — 900 — how long to wait before deciding a reload attempt did not take. Raise it if you are on a slow drive.[/]
[]AUTO_LOAD_ATTEMPTS — 6 — how many attempts before giving the menu back to you.[/]
[]DEBUG_LOGGING — false — set true to trace every step in ue4ss\UE4SS.log.[/]
Compatibility
-
[]Saves: completely safe. The mod triggers the game's own "load last save" action — the exact same code path the button uses. It never touches your save files.[/]
[]Other mods: Don't use with Fast Deathscreen Mod. probably not working and wouldnt make sense.[/]
[]Achievements: unaffected.[/]
[]Updates: the mod reads the game's data through reflection at runtime rather than patching anything, so a game patch will usually not break it. If one ever does, it fails safe — you get the normal death menu back, not a crash.[/]
I was inspired by the "Fast Death Screen" Mod to create a mod that just instantly skips any interaction with menus but still with configuration options.
-
[]Install UE4SS if you do not have it already.[/]
