Mixed Camera - A Modern-Inspired Classic Camera

Description

So, in the Gothic Remake, the Modern camera preset feels like you're shoved directly inside the Hero's Scullclefter, while the "Classic" camera feels... the exact same way, except the player is centered. I wanted to create what a more modern version of the original Gothic camera system would look and feel like.

The player is centered and the camera itself is pushed back. The camera is also largely static during idle, movement, and combat.

Aiming (Unarmed, Ranged, and Magic) uses a modern over-the-shoulder perspective, so think of this as a mix of the modern and classic presets, with an emphasis on Classic Gothic.

There are two versions:

Default: My preference. The player is still shifted to the left by a hair.

Centered: The Player is fully centered, except during Aiming.

UPDATE v1. 1: Lock-On Camera will shift to the right and zoom out depending on the amount of enemies on screen. The shift will only happen when locked on, so you can explore the world with a torch without the camera doing weird stuff.

Go into Game Settings and set the Camera to "Classic" for this to work. You may need to save and reload for it to take effect the first time.

Also, the In-Game FOV setting still works. I prefer 80, but you can literally go from 45-120 (I think it tops out at 120)

Installation instructions

1. Install the latest UE4SS Experimental

2. Extract this zip and drop the "Mixed Camera" folder into the "Mods" folder.

%YOUR DRIVE%\Gothic 1 Remake\G1R\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods

3. In game, go to Game Settings and set the Camera Mode to "Classic". You may need to save and reload for the new system to take effect.

Alternatively:

1. Slap the zip into G1L Launcher.
