📋 About This Mod
Toggle a bright, color-coded glow on every nearby item you can pick up. Spot loot from across the room and in the dark. Fully configurable, no game files touched.
Lootlight
Never walk past a dropped item again.
Press a key and every pickable item lying around you lights up with a bright, color-coded glow that stands out from across the room and in the dark. Lootlight turns looting caves, camps and battlefields into a glance instead of a pixel hunt - ore chunks, coins, weapons, plants, food and more, each tinted by category so you know what's there before you even walk over.
Features
-
[]One-key toggle - turn the highlight on or off instantly (F4 by default).[/]
[]Color-coded by type - weapons red, plants green, ore & coins yellow, everything else blue.[/]
[]Bright emissive glow - clearly visible at distance and at night.[/]
[]Auto-updating - items that stream in light up on their own; items you leave behind fade out. No need to press the key again.[/]
[]Fully configurable - change the key, range, refresh rate, glow strength and every color in a simple text file.[/]
[]Safe & clean - only changes how items look while active and restores everything when toggled off. It does not modify your saves or any game files.[/]
Requirements & UE4SS version
This mod runs on UE4SS (Unreal Engine Scripting System) for Gothic 1 Remake. It works on both UE4SS branches:
-
[]Experimental builds (now supported as of Lootlight 1. 1) - the rolling UE4SS dev builds (3. 0. 1-954 / experimental-latest).
Download: UE4SS experimental-latest (official GitHub), or the UE4SS compilation on Nexus. [/
][]Stable build (PLEASE DON'T USE IT ANYMORE) - the AstAnDK UE4SS build, v3. 0. 1.
Download: UE4SS at Gothic 1 Remake Nexus[/]
Installation
-
[]Install UE4SS first if you don't have it (links above).[/]
[]Extract the download and copy the Lootlight folder into your UE4SS Mods folder. The location depends on your UE4SS build:
Experimental build:
.../Gothic 1 Remake/G1R/Binaries/Win64/ue4ss/Mods/
Stable / AstAnDK build:
.../Gothic 1 Remake/G1R/Binaries/Win64/Mods/The final layout (either case) should be:
.../Mods/Lootlight/enabled.txt
.../Mods/Lootlight/config.txt
.../Mods/Lootlight/Scripts/main.lua[/]
[]Launch the game. The mod loads automatically.[/]
Usage
Press F4 (default) to toggle the highlight. While it's on, nearby ground items glow by category and update automatically as you move.
Configuration
Open Lootlight\config.txt in any text editor, change the values, save, and restart the game.
-
[]toggle_key - key that toggles the effect (F1-F12, A-Z, or 0-9).[/]
[]radius - detection range around you, in meters. Keep it modest (20 default); very large values light up hundreds of items at once and cost FPS.[/]
[]refresh_seconds - how often the highlight updates while it's on.[/]
[]intensity - glow strength (higher = brighter).[/]
[]highlight_picked_plants - true/false; also glow already-harvested plants.[/]
[]color_weapon / color_plant / color_ore / color_other - colors as R,G,B. Values above 1 make the glow stronger (e.g. cyan = 0,8,10).[/]
Notes
-
[]The highlight covers items loaded around you; open-world streaming is handled automatically while it's on.[/]
[]Built entirely with UE4SS Lua - no game assets are packed or replaced, so it's easy to remove (just delete the folder).[/]
[]Known issue (experimental UE4SS only): rare crashes can still happen during heavy item streaming (e.g. opening the inventory or running through a busy area with the glow on). A fix is in progress. Workaround: keep the range small, or toggle the glow off before opening the inventory. The stable build is unaffected.[/]
