Akula Adventure Assistant - Modular QoL Helper

Akula Adventure Assistant is a modular UE4SS Lua quality-of-life assistant for Gothic 1 Remake.

VERSION 0. 1. 2-dev — TECHNICAL STABILITY UPDATE

This update fixes defensive-coding issues that could make the scanner fail to find the player or treat the boolean result of pcall as a UE4SS object. Player, world, location, actor name and class lookups now use guarded result handling and safer fallbacks. The configuration loader also fails safely when config.lua is unavailable.

• Optional interaction scanner with configurable radius, categories, cooldown and result limit.

• Fair lockpicking memory helper that records manual attempts only; it does not auto-unlock.

• Player notes and session logging helpers.

• Optional hotkeys and diagnostic logging.

• Read-only operation: no autoloot, spawning, stat edits, save edits or original game-file replacement.

INSTALLATION

1. Install a compatible UE4SS/RE-UE4SS setup for Gothic 1 Remake.

2. Extract the archive.

3. Copy the AkulaAdventureAssistant folder to G1R/Binaries/Win64/Mods/.

4. Launch the game and check UE4SS.log.

5. Configure Scripts/config.lua only after confirming that the mod loads.

IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS

This is a development/experimental release. Object and class exposure varies between game builds and UE4SS versions. The scanner may return incomplete results, and hotkey or on-screen message APIs may differ. Runtime compatibility has not been verified on every Steam, GOG, Linux/Proton or ISKL configuration. Please include your game version, UE4SS version, config.lua and UE4SS.log in bug reports.

The mod is intended to fail safely where possible. It does not modify saves, stats, damage, items, quests, NPC schedules or original Gothic 1 Remake files.
