📋 About This Mod
Make the Xenon a real threat again. Hostile AI factions you've wronged will send Retaliation Forces against their enemies. Xenon rebuild their strongholds when wiped out. Psi Emitters lure deranged Xenon and Kha'ak waves. Big battles. Real
⚔️ Xenon Buff — Make The Galaxy Dangerous Again
Tired of the Xenon getting steamrolled? Tired of declaring war on a faction and never hearing from them again? This mod restores the bite.
Xenon Buff keeps the galaxy hostile in three ways: it reinforces Xenon home sectors, sends proper Retaliation Forces from any faction you've angered, and spawns corrupted-signal Psi Emitters that lure deranged Xenon and Kha'ak waves into unsuspecting sectors. All three systems can be toggled independently.
🤖 Xenon Presence
Xenon home sectors get periodic resupply: fresh miners, traders, and protector ships arrive to keep the economy running.
In five specific strongholds — 🪐 Atiya's Misfortune I, Emperor's Pride VI, Matrix #598, Matrix #101, and Tharka's Ravine XVI — destroyed Xenon wharves and defense platforms will rebuild themselves over time. Clear them today, they're back tomorrow. These sectors stay contested forever.
🚨 Retaliation Forces
Piss off an AI faction (reputation -20 or lower) and they will come for you. Every vanilla and DLC faction is supported — Argon, Paranid, Split, Teladi, Terran, Boron, Yaki, Pirates, Mercenaries, and more. Each retaliating faction fields its own ships: the generic builder picks the correct fleet from that faction's own pool.
Fleets are tiered automatically:
⭐ Factions with capital ships send XL flagships (Asgard, Colossus, Raptor, Zeus…)
⭐ Factions without XL send L-class flagships as leaders
⭐ Tier-3 factions (corvette-only) send swarms of M and S ships instead — more of them, as compensation
⭐ Yaki has a custom compressed fleet using Kuraokami corvettes and Moreya interceptors
🎯 Each retaliation force hunts a shipyard, wharf, or player asset belonging to that faction's enemies. If all faction targets are destroyed, player stations (or even player ships) become the target. They will wreck anything in their path on the way there.
Xenon, Kha'ak, and Mercenary retaliations are still rolled as variants — the system layers on top of the existing Xenon/Kha'ak/Merc options.
🛰 Xenon Psi Emitter
Corrupted signal stations spawn in random sectors and draw waves of Deranged Xenon and Kha'ak. Waves roll 60% Xenon / 40% Kha'ak, with Kha'ak arriving in greater numbers to compensate for their lower individual threat. Destroy the emitter, end the threat — but a new one will eventually appear somewhere else.
💎 Real Rewards
Completing a Retaliation mission grants credits plus three high-tier ship modification parts: one guaranteed Exceptional, two more pulled randomly from the combined Advanced/Exceptional pool. Enough to fully mod a ship from one good fight.
