Hold Block To Counter - Remastered

Hold block and every parryable attack gets countered automatically.

In the base game a counterattack needs a perfectly timed press of the block button. With this mod, simply holding block is enough:   every attack that can be parried turns into a counterattack.

New in 1. 1: heavy attacks

While you hold block, heavy and partially parryable attacks (heavy axes, halberds, drowner claws...) can now be parried and countered too, instead of making Geralt stagger and take damage.

New in 1. 2: option for big enemies

Options > Mods > Heavy Attacks From Big Enemies:

• []Parry and counter (default): heavy attacks from big enemies can be parried and countered too, as in 1. 1.[/]

  []Parry only: you can parry them, but not counter them.[/]

  []Vanilla: their heavy attacks stay unblockable, like in the base game.[/]

Big enemies are the ones the game itself treats as big: taller than about 2 m or very wide (bears, werewolves, trolls, griffins...), plus bosses. Smaller enemies like drowners or humans are not affected.

New in 1. 3: option for two-handed weapons

Options > Mods > Heavy Attacks From Two-Handed Weapons:

• []Parry only (default): heavy attacks from humans with a two-handed weapon (axes, hammers, halberds, staffs) can be parried but not countered, the game has no proper counter animation for those.[/]

  []Parry and counter: same as before.[/]

  Notes

  • []With the Deflection skill, holding block also reflects arrows.[/]

    Installation

    Extract the archive into your game folder (the bin and mods folders go next to content).

    Script-only mod, compatible with most other mods. Made for the Remastered version (5. 00).
