Beard Growth Lock - Remastered

Control Geralt's beard growth and haircut from the options menu.

This mod adds a Beard Growth option and a Hairstyle option in Options > Mods.

The options

• []Keep current beard (default): the beard stops growing and stays exactly as it is right now (clean shaven, short, long...), no matter how many days pass or how long you meditate.[/]

  []Off (grows normally): the beard grows normally, like in the base game.[/]

  []Stage 0 to Stage 8: the beard is set to that growth stage, then stops growing. The game has 9 beard growth stages: Stage 0 = no beard, Stage 8 = maximum beard, and the stages in between are the steps of the normal growth.[/]

  Hairstyle (new in 1. 3)

  Change the haircut without going to a barber. Pick one of the game's hairstyles (Half with tail, Shaved with tail, Long loose, Short loose, Mohawk with ponytail, Nilfgaardian (Elven rebel cut), Fancy bowl, Rabble rouser), close the menu and wait a few seconds. Keep current (default) never changes your haircut.

  More hairstyles and beards (optional, new in 1. 4)

  If you also install New Hairstyles and Beards by Ard Carraigh, its 19 hairstyles and 19 beards are added to the Hairstyle and Beard Growth options (marked - NHB). The hairstyles and beards themselves come from that mod, all credit goes to its authors. Without it, the NHB options simply do nothing.

  How to use

  • []Open Options > Mods > Beard Growth.[/]

    []Pick a stage (or "Keep current beard"), close the menu: the change is applied within a few seconds.[/]

    []That's it: the beard stays like that for the rest of the game.[/]

    Notes

    • []You can still change your beard at a barber: with "Keep current beard", the new one will stay as well.[/]

      []If a quest or a cutscene changes your beard, it stays at that new state afterwards.[/]

      []A stage is applied when you select it. If you load another save, just select the stage again.[/]

      []It uses the game's own beard functions (the same ones some quests use).[/]

      Installation

      Extract the archive into your game folder (the bin and mods folders go next to content).

      Updating from 1. 2 or older: delete the old bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\beardGrowthLock.xml (the menu file was renamed).

      Made for the Remastered version (5. 00).
