📋 About This Mod
The mod provides a variety of fixes: cutscene fixes, optional gameplay tweaks, corrected journal entries and compatiblity patches. If you see anything to fix in the game, it can be fixed and added here. Good luck on the Trail.
Cutscene fixes:
1) Epilogue, Ice Plains - when we begin our final fight, the silver sword is placed incorrectly on the right side of our character in the cutscene. The mod fixes its placement. If you see any other case of such misplacement, tell me about them.
2) Epilogue, Ice Plains - I've found the same issue in the very next cutscene during this battle. Fortunately, the one after has the correct placement.
3) Act IV, Steel for Dagon - first of all, the steel sword is misplaced on the back. Second, more important thing: the silver sword shouldn't be used in the cutscene, because Vodyanoi are susceptible to steel. Which the game itself reminds us of when our character correctly draws the steel after the cinematic. I've fixed both issues: now the steel sword is being used in the cutscene, and the silver is in its right place.
4) Act III - the issue I was informed of by @kuczaja, a really good job with it. When we sneak up on some Salamandra members trying to talk to King Radovid through a megascope, the mage responsible for the transmission had a wrong template, that of a Salamandra assassin. Now the mage looks like he should.
2. 2. 2 - the issues were spotted by @evgenezh in the comments of my ACWR mod, and I was able to fix them at last. These cutscenes were exceptionally well made, now they are perfect as they deserve.
5) Prologue - a great, immersive and atmospheric introduction scene. One can feel a spirit of the books in it. Geralt is found by his fellow witcher after frantically running through wilderness. Issues - Papa Vesemir and Eskel have the wrong swords (Rusty sword) on their back, instead of 'Witcher Steel Sword'. Fixed.
6) Prologue - another wonderful scene: The White Wolf returns to Kaer Morhen after so much time, he and the other two witchers are greeted by Lambert. There was a similar issue - Vesemir and Eskel had the Rusty Sword equipped. A similar fix has been applied.
7) Act I - in the cutscene serving as the first Act's conclusion, Gwynbleidd uses the Rusty Sword. Also, two guardsmen have Scoia'tael weapons equipped. It's hardly easy to spot it in-game, but the swords were incorrect by default. All the issues have been fixed, the witcher uses the Witcher Steel Sword, and the two guards use elven weaponry no more.
2. 3 - this version fixes one more cutscene, reported to me by @KnightZ07.
8) Act II - It's about the cutscene triggered on our approach to the Swamps by boat. @KnightZ07 mentioned the witcher was using the Rusty Sword there, on the other hand, I also noticed the sword was incorrectly placed on the left shoulder. Now, the weapon is correctly on the right and uses the Witcher Steel Sword model.
Compatibility:
1) RoTWW x Mersey compatibility file - a great satisfaction to have made this for the RoTWW and Project Mersey users. The mods don't have any serious file conflicts, fortunately. Except for one dialogue file, related to Jaskier/Dandelion's dialogues in Murky Waters.
Mersey fixes two journal entries, and RoTWW adds a great cutscene with a beautiful Jaskier's ballad from the Polish TV series. Now it's possible to hear the song in the Murky Waters Inn and have the Mersey's fixes both.
2) "DIary of a Dice Collector" - Mersey fixed a typo in the English text of the book. But every non-EN localisation has completely incorrect dates - (1340, 1341, 1342), as if the book's author were a time-traveller. The Mersey typo fix and the correct dates for every available language version have been applied.
- You can safely remove the it_scroll_224.uti from ProjectMersey/Items
3) The Hermit from the Fields - Mersey also restored a certain missing journal entry. But I've discovered it can be improved, by using a restored, but a bit unpolished entry from the Polish version (maybe that's why the entry was unavailable).
The effect is nice - for EN and PL, now there's a very interesting, expanded entry, one that provides more insight into the Hermit's role in the Fields. It also provides additional lore about the knights of the Lady of the Lake.
- It includes the other Mersey's edits in the character.dlg file. The .dlg is safe to remove from Project Mersey/Dialogues
4) Another Mersey fix that wasn't translated to other languages - in the Epilogue, we may encounter a friendly Nightwraith, who was incorrectly named "Noonwraith" - I've added the fix to the German and Polish localisations.
- q6002_iceplains.qst is safe to remove from Project Mersey/Quests
