Vini

Vini is a mod that allows you to have text-to-text conversations with any NPC in the game using LLMs. Currently, only the OpenAI API is supported. A non-pirated copy of the latest version of Next Gen, Steam or GOG version 4. 04+ is required.

Getting Started

Install the mod: drag and drop all files from the mod to your game directory

Enable the in-game debug console: Add DBGConsoleOn=true to bin/config/base/general.ini

Set your OpenAI key and model in bin/Vini/config.xml

Launch the game with -net -debugscripts arguments

Open the debug console (~) and type say("hello NPC!") to communicate with any nearby NPCs that Geralt is facing

Interact with every human NPC in real-time

NPCs remember the current conversation

NPCs are aware of in-game info such as time of day, their current location, and mood towards the player

NPCs are aware of their in-game identity, allowing for natural conversations with main characters like Yennefer, Triss, Vesemir, and more

Group conversations, speak with multiple NPCs at the same time

Text-to-text dialogue system using the in-game debug console
