Powerful Counters

Description

This mod attempts to improve combat by: (1) modifying the the counterattack skill to buff counter slashes (perfect for Combat Skills mod), and (2) improving combat flow (in my opinion) by replacing the default counters from bash or kick to sidestep slashes.

Installation instructions

Extract the zip file and copy paste the modpowerful_counters folder to your mods folder under The Witcher 3 directory. If the mods folder does not exist, simply create one.

Main features

Counter slashes will have increased critical hit chance and damage bonus based on the level of the counterattack skill. The counterattack skill description in the combat skills tree reflects this feature. The critical hit damage bonus follows the same progression as the precise strikes and crushing blows skills while the increased critical hit chance encourages the use of counters.

  []By default, counters will now be side step slashes (same animation you do when you counter drowners). If a human enemy has shield, the counter will be either a bash, a kick, or a slash (same animation when you cut hag tongues) only if knockdown effect can be applied.[/]

  []Adapted the fix by Akatoshka7 in Counter Attack Fixes to performing unique slash counters for grave hag tongue attacks only. Regular light and heavy attacks from grave hags will be countered with side step slashes by default. [/]

  Counterattack skill additional bonus effects per level

  • []Level 1: Slightly increased counter slash damage. +33% critical hit chance and +25% critical hit damage bonus to counter slashes.   [/]

    []Level 2: Moderately increased counter slash damage.+66% critical hit chance and +50% critical hit damage bonus to counter slashes.[/]

    []Level 3: Significantly increased counter slash damage. +100% critical hit chance and +75% critical hit damage bonus to counter slashes.[/]
