📋 About This Mod

Description

I know I’m not the only one who was perpetually annoyed by the flailing NPCs who went careening off in various directions with loud cries of indignation every time Geralt so much as brushed past them. So no more.

The good citizens of the Witcher world are now made of sturdier stuff; they neither scream nor scatter like bowling pins when Geralt collides with them. You will actually have to glide around others and nimbly slip through crowds instead of sprinting in a straight line and letting the AI shove people aside.

NPCs will also no longer walk into Geralt when he's standing around and then jump back with an offended sound like it was all his fault.

As of the latest version, NPCs will not freak out when Geralt uses non-hostile magic (quen, igni to light or extinguish a fire). Other uses of magic will still get a response.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

This small immersion mod for The Witcher 3 removes the exaggerated reactions of NPCs when Geralt bumps into them or uses non-hostile magic, preventing them from crying out or being knocked back. It's for players who find the vanilla physics and voice lines jarring and want a more grounded world.

✨ Key Features

NPCs no longer cry out when Geralt bumps into them.
NPCs no longer go flying when Geralt bumps into them.
NPCs no longer react to non-hostile magic with cries or knockback.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community favorite with 1,505 endorsements and over 30k downloads.
  • Simple, focused fix that removes a common annoyance without altering other gameplay.
  • Lightweight and likely compatible with most setups since it only tweaks NPC reactions.

⚠️ Cons

  • Only affects bumping and non-hostile magic; doesn't address other NPC physics quirks.
  • Last updated December 2025, but no confirmation of compatibility with the latest game patch.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Witcher 3 players who hate when NPCs scream and ragdoll from a simple bump, breaking immersion. If you're a roleplayer who wants a more believable world, this is a must-have. Skip if you enjoy the chaotic physics or want more comprehensive NPC behavior overhauls.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • If you're using mod manager, just drop the mod folder into your 'mods' directory and enable it.
  • For manual install, place the mod folder in your Witcher 3 'Mods' folder and make sure it's named correctly (e.g., 'modNoIndignantNPCs').
  • This mod only changes NPC reactions, so it should work with most other mods, but test after installing to ensure no conflicts.
