📋 About This Mod

Settings menu dedicated to hidden "level of detail" settings

Hello there

The project is still VERY experimental so it could create some problems.

move the settings with awareness and if you don't see changes immediately by changing the settings try making a quick trip there and then returning to the original point to reload the textures (or restart the game).

-some graphical artifacts may appear if you raise the settings too much

-I recommend raising the texture budget to have fewer problems

IMPORTANT

-BE SURE THE LODutility.xml FILE IS LOCATED IN bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc

-add the string "LODutility.xml;" in dx12filelist.txt (without quotes and with semicolon"

SETTINGS DESCRIPTION:

  • []It mainly helps us to change game settings that we normally couldn't change except from user.settings[/]

  • []1. Building Shell Render Distance

    MeshRenderingDistanceScale

What it does: Adjusts the global rendering distance for structures. It tells the game at how many meters away a house's main structure (the "shell") should start existing in 3D. If this value is too low compared to your LOD settings, nearby buildings will start vanishing into thin air due to memory streaming conflicts.

[/]

[]2. Mesh LOD Detail Distance

MeshLODDistanceScale

  • What it does: Controls the geometric quality of models at a distance. The higher the value, the more buildings maintain their real, high-poly defined shape even kilometers away, preventing them from turning into ugly, flat, cardboard-like silhouettes.
[/]

[]3. Windows and Frames Visibility

DimmerHideDistance

  • What it does: Manages the loading of window frames, shutters, decorative arches, and doors on building facades. Increasing this setting eliminates the annoying pop-in effect where you can see a house's outline from afar
[/]

[]4. Wall Details Spawn Distance

DecalsSpawnDistanceCutoff

  • What it does: Determines the distance at which micro-physical details are rendered on walls, such as cracks in plaster, gaps between bricks, or embossed stonework details
[/]

[]5. Wall Decals and Ivy Visibility

DecalsHideDistance

  • What it does: Regulates the visibility of external overlay decorations applied to buildings, such as climbing ivy, posters, shields, and faction banners hanging outside taverns.
[/]

[*]6. Trees and Foliage Distance

FoliageDistanceScale

What it does: Multiplies the rendering distance for trees, large bushes, and entire forests. Pushing this value
