HQ female hairstyles - Modder's resource

You need to know how to use Blender in general and how to work with Witcher 3 meshes specifically.

There are also raw FBX files for other 3d software users.

The resource may be useful for modders who are interested in modding hair, but don't want to tediously clean up optimized vanilla meshes themselves. These mesehs have higher resolution than their vanilla counterparts, which makes them look much better from up close. Check mod page for comparison pics.

Meshes were extracted, cleaned-up, quadrified (when it wasn't too tedious) and then subdivided. Then I would occasionally touch them up by hand to optimize or leave as is. Many meshes were then fixed and polished by me to remove clipping and other artifacts (cut strands, bad UVs, bad weights etc).

✅ Ciri - fixed bun clipping

✅ Triss - fixed cut hair strands, bangs clipping through her cheeks

✅ Triss DLC6 - fixed bangs clipping through her cheeks

✅ Yen c01 (for travel outfit)

✅ Yen c03 (for bare shoulders outfits)

✅ Keira bloody - repainted blood color to better match the rest of appearance

✅ Philippa unsqueezed - optional file with no bandage shrinking

✅ Priscilla

✅ Priscilla wounded - replaced vanilla low-quality mesh with an extended version of her regular hairstyle

✅ Cerys crown - repositioned the crown to be on, well, crown of her head instead of her forehead (I like it better)

✅ Fringilla

✅ Ves and Ves brunette (some minor chars use this hairstyle)

Hearts of Stone:

✅ Iris - fixed UV clip on bangs

✅ Iris veil

✅ Shani - much less clipping in between layers

Blood and Wine:

✅ Anarietta curls - lots of clipping and see-through fixes

✅ Anarietta masquerade

✅ Vivienne, Vivienne monster - fixed clipping, repositioned upper strands to not dive into the hairstyle

✅ b&w Common c01 - unused in the game, may come handy for custom chars; fixed front strands

✅ Anarietta's Lady in Waiting Ponytail

Intended use:

FOR BLENDER

- create your own Blender file

- load vanilla Witcher hairstyle to fetch armature, materials and textures from your modding depot

- append a collection from HQ hairstyles blend file to fetch the HQ mesh

- correct materials, parent, and armature link

- have fun modding
