Hotkeys To Toggle NPC Chatter Voices Music Subtitles On Off

Why this mod is so important

The Witcher 3 has a terrific music score and you can listen to it for hours. The NPC-Chatter really adds to the atmosphere and is sometimes even funny. But after 150 hours into the game it gets just a bit old. So I wrote a little mod that lets you turn voices, music and subtitles on and off with a hotkey. No more "Pissed my trousers", "...dying from poverty", "Crawl back under your rock!" at every corner :-). And when I need to talk to someone important I just flip it on without having to delve into the menus.

Installation

I heartily recommend W3 Mod Manager because it installs the mod automatically, including the menu entries and hotkeys. After Installation run Script Merger if you have other mods installed. About the nexus mod manager: Since NMM only copies the mod to the mod folder but isn't able to add menu entries or hotkeys, you will have to install them manually if you insist on using NMM :-). Start in that case at 2.

Manual Installation

1. Copy the mod folder to ...\(Your Witcher3 directory)\mods

2. Add the lines from input.settings.part.txt to ...\Documents\The Witcher 3\Input.settings under the proper headings.

3. Add the lines from input.xml.part.txt to ...\(Your Witcher3 directory)\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\input.xml above the line with <!-- -->

4. If you have other mods installed you need to copy 3 lines from my player.ws to the corresponding file in \mod0000_MergedFiles. Open it with your favorite text editor and look for lines containing modToggleSubsnAudio. Or you could just use Script Merger :-)

You can change the hotkeys in Options\Key Bindings to anything you like. Default Keys are F6, F7, F8. If you want subtitles for the NPC-Chatter you have to activate them first under Options\Video\Hud Configuration\.

Limitations

The hotkeys don't work in the menus.
