By default you can double tap a direction, wads, to do a side dodge. If this hinders you somehow, you can disable it by editing input.settings file.
1. Go to \Documents\The Witcher 3 and open input.setting with notepad 2. Find the line that contain "IK_W" and "double tap" and erase it 3. Repeat step 2 for "IK_A", "IK_S", and "IK_D". 4. Save the file
I've also uploaded a input.settings file that I removed double tap dodge. You can download it and overwrite the one you have, just be careful if you have any other input mods.
