Make Minimap transparent or leave only Clock.
Use with Friendly HUD, it's just better.
With this mod you can make minimap transparent, but leave the markers. It will make the minimap less intrusive, but you still get the sense of direction. Also there is a version with only clock visible.
Check out Dynamic Minimap mod. It's nice upgrade of this mod.
There are version compatible with Colored Map Markers.
