Buckshot Overhaul – Complete Shotgun Rebalance

This mod completely rebalances buckshot ammunition across all shotgun gauges in theHunter: Call of the Wild. In the vanilla game, buckshot suffers from extreme pellet spread and weak penetration, making it unreliable and frustrating to use even at close ranges.

To restore buckshot as a deadly, viable choice for close-quarters hunting, the following improvements have been made:

• []Tighter Pellet Spread: Patterning has been significantly tightened to deliver a dense, devastating grouping at target distances.[/]

  []Increased Penetration: Pellet punch has been boosted across the board, ensuring deeper tissue penetration and reliable vital-organ hits on appropriate game classes.[/]

  []Universal Gauge Coverage: Applied balanced adjustments across 10ga, 12ga, 16ga, 20ga, and . 410 gauge ammunition.[/]

With these adjustments, shotguns are no longer restricted to birdshot or slugs to be effective, turning every gauge into a lethal option for close-range broadside shots.

I have also posted a video showing how buckshot behaves now.

Please note that during testing, I discovered that in some cases, the 12ga causes the game to crash. If this happens to you, you will need to remove the 12ga. The problem is that some people experience this issue and others do not. I have not been able to determine the cause.

Installation

1. Copy the dropzone folder from chosen mod and place it in the COTW Install folder.

2. Steam\steamapps\common\theHunterCotW\ folder. Make sure "dropzone" folder is inside theHunterCotW folder.

3. Add the following line to CotW's steam launcher option, Mods wont work without these launch options!

--vfs-fs dropzone --vfs-archive patch_win64 --vfs-archive archives_win64 --vfs-archive dlc_win64 --vfs-fs

In the Epic games launcher, under your Account

Go to settings scroll down

Open the game accordion TheHunter: Call of the wild

Check the last checkbox "Additional Command Line Arguments"

Put in the argument:

--vfs-fs dropzone --vfs-archive patch_win64 --vfs-archive archives_win64 --vfs-archive dlc_win64 --vfs-fs

Not tested on Epic so might not work.
