📋 About This Mod
As of December 3rd, 2024, I no longer have plans to actively mod Starfield. This mod is unlikely to receive further updates.
Bethesda has recently allowed paid mods to be tagged as Achievement Friendly on the Creations platform, with no plans to make accommodations for free mods. They are also allowing mod authors to re-upload free mods as paid mods to get the Achievement Friendly tag, at the request of console mod users.
This effectively disincentivizes free mods from being published, as it will push console users to stick with purely paid load orders in order to continue earning achievements. This was the final nail in the coffin for my interest in Starfield, and I no longer wish to support the money-first modding ecosystem that Bethesda is attempting to create.
Thank you to everyone who has used my work. I am happy to have been able to share things which have improved the game for so many people.
This mod does the following things:
-
[]Hides your spacesuit while inside of a sealed starship, including your home ship.
[
]Hides your spacesuit while on a safe, breathable planet. For example, anywhere on Jemison outside of New Atlantis.[]If you step into a sealed area on a world where you need a spacesuit, only your helmet will be hidden. Follower spacesuit behavior will be synced to yours a bit in those areas (more info below).
[]Followers no longer needlessly wear their helmets in breathable environments.
[]Your Parallel Self duplicate will now use the same spacesuit behavior as followers, rather than always wearing a spacesuit.
[]Spacesuits without helmets will be worn on breathable worlds which are cold, but not cold enough to be hazardous. If you step into a sealed area, you and your follower will leave your suits on, unless you manually take your suit off (more info below). Other NPCs will take off their suits in these areas.
- NPCs who are capable of removing their spacesuits (civilians at outposts for example) will no longer needlessly wear their helmets in breathable environments.
Some areas which would normally hide your suit are manually flagged to show it at all times. For example, the Deimos Armored Transport in Alpha Centauri is one of these, since gravity fluctuates constantly in there. You wouldn't just keep taking your suit on and off every 10 seconds. I also plan to support any DLC areas with this rule as needed, via patches.
For follower suit synchronization: If you are on a planet where your suit is shown, and you step into a sealed area, you and your follower will only take off your helmets (if you had one on). I did it this way because I felt like it was a bit too much to automatically unequip your entire space suit for these areas, since you usually only enter them for a moment or t

- Last updated in September 2024 — may not be compatible with future game patches.
- Requires the base game and may conflict with other suit-related mods.
For Starfield players who are tired of the spacesuit auto-hide mechanic and want more control. Also great for those who want their follower to match their suit visibility. Skip if you're happy with the default behavior or prefer full suit customization mods.
