📋 About This Mod
The Low-Down
Safe to use after June 11th, 2026, Starfield Update 1. 16. 244
When playing Starfield in a heavily-modded setup, almost inevitably many of us wind up with mods that increase the number of systems we can place. This mod reduces the number of systems you need to place to still get over-powered benefits from your ships.
This mod does not replace any assets, but adds new modules to the game, so it won't interfere with other mods.
Recommendations
These downloads are recommended to make the most from this mod:
-
[]StarUI Shipbuilder - Makes this mod's ship module icons visible, as well as hiding the suffix that adds the icons thanks to StarUI, making the module names appear as intended. This mod is highly recommended anyways because it improves the Shipbuilder interface in a substantial way.[/]
[]Formless Gameplay Settings Expanded - Using this mod alongside Formless Shipyards will give you control over your ships' damage dealt and received (among many other settings). Formless Shipyards ship modules are intended to be over-powered. My Gameplay Settings mod lets the player control by how much your ships are over-powered.[/]
All modules can be acquired once you reach level 2, with no other requirements than your Piloting license. There are over 120 new ship modules added by this mod.
Here are the primary stats on current modules in this mod:
[]4 A-Class reactors with 1,750 to 10,000 hull and 120 to 300 power[/]
[]4 B-Class reactors with 2,500 to 15,000 hull and 150 to 400 power[/]
[]4 C-Class reactors with 3,500 to 20,000 hull and 200 to 500 power[/]
[]4 A-Class shields with 1,750 to 10,000 hit points and 10% recharge[/]
[]4 B-Class shields with 2,500 to 15,000 hit points and 12% recharge[/]
[]4 C-Class shields with 3,500 to 20,000 hit points and 15% recharge (3x the speed of vanilla C-Class shields)[/]
[]4 A-Class, 4 B-Class, and 4 C-Class grav drives, the tier 4 versions of each class having enough jump range to cross the galaxy[/]
[]4 A-Class, 4 B-Class, and 4 C-Class engines with a small increase over vanilla A-Class engines in overall speed, plus plenty of maneuverability, and an increase in available Boost Fuel. Slight increase to Boost Fuel regen to match the increase in overall fuel.[/]
[]5 new M-Class-style ship weapons, retro-fitted for A to C-Class reactors. 1 laser beam, 1 railgun, 1 particle beam, 1 missile launcher and 1 EM weapon[/]
[*]15 new A-Class ship weapons with C-Clas
Formless Shipyards adds 48 small ship systems, 5 fuel tanks, 4 shielded cargo options, landing gear with 10 thrust, structurals, and 44 C & M-Class weapons retro-fitted for A-Class reactors. Designed for the Watchtower mod, this is a compact expansion for Starfield ship builders.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid endorsement count (82) and nearly 10k downloads show it's got a following
- Adds a ton of parts in one go—48 systems, 44 weapons, plus fuel, cargo, and gear
- Retro-fitting C and M weapons for A reactors is a smart twist for early-game builds
⚠️ Cons
- Designed for the Watchtower mod, so it might not play nice with vanilla ship building
- Last updated April 2026, so it's fresh, but no word on future patches or support
For Starfield ship builders who want more variety without overhauling the whole game. If you're running the Watchtower mod and need extra parts, this is a no-brainer. Skip if you're on vanilla and don't want to mess with dependencies.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have the Watchtower mod installed first, or these parts may not show up in the ship builder.
- Check your reactor class before slapping on those retro-fitted weapons—they're tuned for A-class, so don't expect them to work on B or C without tweaks.
- Since the mod adds so many parts, use the search or filter in the ship builder to find them quickly.
