PS4 Button Replacement for Sekiro

Description

The current PS4 button mods on Nexus did not work for me, probably because I'm too dumb; but regardless, I went ahead and made a working version for myself. If you're running into similar issues, hopefully this fixes it.

The latest version (1. 1) has been updated for easier integration with other mods. See 'Integration with Other Mods' below; the steps are detailed so anyone with no prior modding experience should be able to follow along. For those with more modding experience, there is also a TL;DR.

This mod fully replaces the main buttons for the XBOX controller, which means if you change or modify your main controls, the mod will still work. You can see in the images provided, I like to play with 'triangle' and 'square' swapped, so interactions are 'square' and using items is 'triangle' for me, which the mod displays correctly.

Full disclosure, I use a PS4 controller and DS4Windows to emulate an XBOX360 controller, and it works for me.

Due to similarities between a lot of the buttons on the XBOX360 and PS4 controller, I only modified the most used buttons to show up:

1. A,B,X,Y

2. 'options' button on the PS4 controller instead of the three horizontal lines

3. R1/R2

4. L1/L2

5. I did not adjust the buttons for joysticks / L3 / R3 / d-pad, since those are essentially the same buttons on both controllers.

For those with more experience, I unpacked the menu/hi/01_common.sblytbnd.dcx file, and adjusted the 'SB_KG.layout' file so that the buttons for the XBOX icons mapped to the PS4 icons instead. I used the material viewer in smithbox to hover over each icon, which will tell you what buttons represent what.

Installation Instructions

This is a fairly simple adjustment to already available game files, and is usable with me3 (it should also work with modloader / modengine, just drop the 'menu' folder into your usual mod directory). Just drag and drop the 'menu' folder into your sekiro-mods folder for me3, or the 'mods' folder if using modengine/modloader (or whatever directory you point to when launching mods).

Integration with Other Mods

For other mods that do not modify the file under 'mod/menu/hi/01_common.sblytbnd.dcx', all you have to do is copy the 'menu' folder from my mod into the other mod's directory (just under 'mod/*'). If you did this, and got a prompt that tells you to skip/replace, do not replace the files. Instead, follow the instructions below.
