Alright, let's get into the changes. Since I switched my working format from 16:9 to 32:9, I decided to remove the cinematic black bars from my presets  I’m guessing most of you were disabling them anyway. On top of that, there are a lot of adjustments to gamma, contrast, and overall black balance. I tuned everything specifically to minimize any potential overexposure, and after tons of testing, I can say it finally worked out.

There are also performance improvements  better FPS and lower VRAM usage. Some of the older effects that were melting hardware have been replaced with lighter alternatives. Good, I think that clears things up.

As for installation, I recommend using ReShade version 6. 5. 1 or newer for the best compatibility. Remember, you must drop the shader files included in the download into your main game folder, because they contain essential effects required to achieve the look you see in the screenshots.

For Steam the path is:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Resident Evil Village BIOHAZARD VILLAGE

that’s where all the files I provided should go.

Make sure you’ve installed ReShade before doing this, just to state the obvious.

Then, in-game, after the installation, press HOME  you’ll see the standard ReShade interface. Go to the ReShade Presets tab, find Rotten Sex-Appeal, select it, and boom you’ve got the look you’re expecting.

Regarding installation help: I want to prepare a simple video guide to make the process easier. Once I upload it, you’ll know so no stress.

About the graphics settings I used in the screenshots: I pushed everything as far as I could. Most shots were taken with Image Quality set to 2 (the default is 1). To put it simply, if 1 is 100% resolution scaling, then I’m running 200% for clarity’s sake. I also enabled Ray Tracing, although in RE Village the differences are pretty subtle, so the preset doesn’t lose much quality without it.
